**********SPOILER ALERT************

The first installment of the “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series introduces readers to the captivating journey of Feyre, a skilled huntress whose encounter with a wolf in the woods sets off a chain of unforeseen events. This seemingly innocuous act propels Feyre into the midst of a world beyond her wildest imagination – a world inhabited by enigmatic faeries and fantastical creatures. As she navigates this mesmerizing and perilous realm, she unearths not only the depths of danger and wonder but also unexpected alliances and enthralling romance that transcends boundaries. Through a meticulously crafted narrative, the story seamlessly intertwines elements of fantasy, romance, and adventure, weaving a tapestry that enthralls readers and draws them into a realm where the extraordinary becomes palpable.

Absolutely adored this book! It was the one that initiated my deep dive into the captivating world of Sarah J. Maas. Though it took a moment to become fully immersed in the story, this is to be expected as the first installment in a high fantasy series. The initial world-building may require extra energy to navigate, but the payoff is undeniably worth it. I absolutely adore Feyre as the main female character; she is a resilient and independent young woman who was compelled to become the protector of her family. The love story between Feyre and Tamlin is captivating in the first half of the book when she is introduced to the Spring Court. However, it is her friendship with Lucien that truly captured my heart. Their banter upon Feyre’s arrival at the Spring Court is among my favorite parts of the story.

The moment I was truly sucked into the ACOTAR world was when Feyre ventured under the mountain and faced several life-threatening challenges to save Tamlin from the wrath of Amarantha. This is also when we gained a better insight into who Rhysand, The High Lord of the Night Court, really is. He struck a deal with Feyre while she was under the mountain. Rhysand agreed to heal her shattered arm, obtained during one of her trials, but only if she agreed that if she managed to defeat Amarantha and escape with the Spring Court, she must willingly visit Rhysand in the Night Court for one week every month for the rest of her life. Tamlin is supposed to be Feyre’s great love in this story, but somehow, even though Rhysand was a complete jerk, he somehow still steals the spotlight. Sure, Rhys might currently be the bad guy, but DANG DO I LOVE HIM!

Favorite Quotes:

“Feyre!” someone roared. No, not someone – Rhysand.”

“Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don’t feel anything at all.”

“I stepped out of the shelter of my savior’s arm and turned to thank him. Standing before me was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen.”
