Series: Zodiac Academy #6
Review:
The 6th installment in the Zodiac Academy series, “Fated Throne,” delves into the aftermath of the previous book’s conclusion, portraying the lingering pain experienced by the main characters. As the story unfolds, the protagonists are compelled to confront and resolve the turbulent events that unfolded, adding depth and complexity to the narrative.
Fate, cruel and unyielding, has torn the Vega twins apart, casting Tory adrift in a world shrouded in darkness, where the shadows dance to the sinister tune of the Shadow Princess, corrupting Solaria. Meanwhile, Lionel Acrux gathers his strength, poised to vie for the throne. The only glimmer of hope for the heirs and the Vegas lies in locating the Imperial Star before Lionel. They have already made unfathomable sacrifices at the behest of the stars, and now they must confront the harrowing aftermath. With time slipping through their fingers and the world’s dwindling light flickering in the balance, hope emerges as both a source of resilience and a precipice of peril. Darcy’s resolve to reunite with her sister and fight for their rightful crowns burns fiercely, as a looming war for the throne looms large and the urgent need for a new ruler becomes undeniable. Someone must answer the summons of the throne, for the fate of all hangs in the balance.
I believe these authors are intent on making their readers endure exquisite agony! Fated Throne offered fleeting moments of respite amidst the turmoil, where the heirs and the Vegas shared moments of joy. The intricate web of relationships in this story makes it challenging to discern true happiness, as it often seems unattainable. Nevertheless, this book stands out as one of my favorites in the series. Witnessing the Heirs and the Vegas finally uniting to confront Lionel was a magnificent sight. It signifies the commencement of the rebellion against his tyranny, and their profound bond throughout this journey is truly breathtaking. The Heirs and the Vegas evolve into an inseparable, formidable family, and it would require the power of the stars themselves to tear them a part.
Some of the best Tory and Darius moments so far happened in this book and they really showed more of their emotions in this one. I hated all the pain they had to go through, but their good moments were amazing in this book. Darcy and Lance actually seemed like they had less moments in this book than Tory and Darius, but when they did, they made it count. Darcy struggled throughout the whole book to forgive Lance for what he did but we still got to see how much she still felt for Lance. There was no doubt Lance still loves Darcy and Seth made sure to make him so jealous Lance couldn’t help but show his emotions.
Now the STAR of this book was the relationship between Cal and Seth. We get to see Seth starting to have feelings for his best friend since childhood, and the only one who he confides his feelings to is Darcy. Seth knows how he feels about Cal but he has no clue how Cal feels about him. Through snippets in the book we see some moments where Cal might actually feel something back with Seth but looks like we are still building up to a possible relationship beyond friendship between these two.
Now here is the update on how I am feeling about the heirs and the other characters so far:
- Caleb – AGAIN! I LOVE CAL, always have always will! He was the first Heir that won me over and he has maintained his greatness throughout the series.
- Darius – 100% Darius Supporter but he did annoy me at times in this book. He had some amazing over the top moments where he was the best guy ever and willing to do everything to save Tory and be with her. However, he is so freaking annoying when it comes to the claim for the throne! but I guess in the end of the book he finally choose what is actually important.
- Max – I started to like Max in the last book and in this book he has become even more likable. He takes on the emotions and pain of his friends and is adorable around Grus. He has come along way from that douche in the beginning books.
- Seth – HOW THE HELL DID SETH BECOME MY FAVORITE CHARACTER!!!! If someone bet me Seth would be my favorite character in Zodiac Academy two books ago I would have laughed. I utterly HATED, LOATHED, DESPISED him in the previous books and now here he is and I LOVE HIM! I actually wanted more chapters in his POV because I found myself loving his chapters and how he has become best friends with Darcy.
- Tory Vega – The PAIN! Tory went through so much in this book and stood strong, she really showed growth in this book on how she handled her emotions and her trauma. The fact that she was willing to open up to the Heirs and let them help her, and she fought back against Lionel. She is just getting stronger each book and her connection to Darius is beautiful.
- Darcy Vega – I FREAKING LOVE DARCY! She is my favorite twin sister, but honestly Tory was trying to get 1st place in this book. I love how Darcy has grown into her friendships with the Heirs and how close she and Darius are, they sort of seem like they have a brother sister relationship. Darcy and Seth’s friendship is hilarious and I NEED MORE!
- Lance Orion – UGH, he is back!! He made a mistake in the last book and he is starting to come back to the good side and make the right decisions. I NEED MORE OF HIS JEALOUSY!! I love how Seth is trying to get Lance and Darcy back together by making him crazy jealous of him and Darcy, I can’t wait for more in the next book.
- Geraldine Grus – PROTECT GRUS AT ALL TIMES!! No one is more loyally and he relationship with Max is top tier, I need them to be Endgame!
This installment was utterly heartbreakingly amazing and I immediately ran to start the next book.

“There is only her”
“Denial was my best friend who liked to braid my hair and call me pretty. So yep, Cal could definitely be mine inside my head in an alternate reality I liked to call Calaria.”
