**********SPOILER ALERT************

“The Reckoning” is the third installment in the Zodiac Academy series, a gripping fantasy series set in the enchanting world of Solaria. The story continues to follow the journey of the Heirs and the Vega Twins as they navigate through the complexities of their magical academy and the challenges that come with their unique powers. In this thrilling installment, the Heirs and the Vegas face escalating tensions and political intrigue as they confront their destinies and prepare for an inevitable reckoning. As secrets unravel and alliances are tested, they must harness their strength and make difficult choices to protect themselves and the future of Solaria. With its blend of romance, magic, and high-stakes action, “The Reckoning” promises to captivate readers and leave them eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the Zodiac Academy saga.

It just keeps getting better! I freaking loved this book and the way the story is progressing through the series, but I can sense heartbreak in my future because the end of this book is pointing to a road that can only lead to mind numbing trauma.

We learn even more about the heirs and the Vegas, and get multiple point of view chapters so we can see how everyone is dealing with their time at the academy. The Vegas are under a massive amount of stress because they have to pass “The Reckoning” to be deemed as worthy of staying at zodiac academy. If they fail “The Reckoning” they not only lose their chance at learning at the academy but they lose their chance at the throne. Which is exactly what the heirs what to happen, but the Vegas don’t look like they are going to give up anytime soon.

Now here is the update on how I am feeling about the heirs so far:

  • Caleb – Still love him and he just keeps getting better. His relationship with Tory is not only steamy its hilarious as well.
  • Darius – Love him more and more even though he makes stupid decisions and excuses it by saying he had to do it for the good of Solaria. Him and Tory have some great moments in this book where you can really see their actual feelings for each other and not the front they put on about hating each other.
  • Max – Still don’t really like him, he still seems like a giant jerk. He does have his moments with Geraldine Grus though where it’s hard not to laugh at them.
  • Seth – absolutely loath him, I don’t understand how we are suppose to end up loving this character. All the heirs have done plenty of awful things to the Vegas, but Seth is the one to seem to utterly enjoy the pain he puts them through. The only redeeming quality of his is that he sometimes has some funny moments where he acts like a complete clown.

Lance Orion sets my heart ablaze! With every step, he ascends higher on my list of beloved book boyfriends. The passionate exploration of his relationship with Darcy in this book is utterly enthralling, laying bare the depths of their love. And the searing animosity he harbors towards Seth for his mistreatment of Darcy – the way he dismisses Seth with contempt is positively electrifying! Let’s not overlook Lance’s profound connection with Darius; their bromance sets the standard. In this series, their friendship shines as one of the most remarkable aspects, steadfastly supporting each other despite their occasional disagreements.

I absolutely loved this book, it’s definitely my favorite in the series. But I can’t believe the authors teased us with Tory and Darius only to snatch it away. They were so close! It’s just not fair.

Favorite Quotes:

“In Solaria blue means royal. And to me, blue means you.”

“There are countless people who would say I’m not allowed to want you,” Darius breathed. “But you make me want to burn the whole world down so that I can claim you for my own.”

“Vegas gonna take you down! Vegas coming for the crown! Watch out Heirs you’d better bow! Vegas gonna take you DOWN!”
